BIOGRAPHY

Currently residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, Josef (Jobey) Berliner has been painting since he was old enough to hold a brush. After experimenting in several styles, he realized that realism and a love of glamour made his "star sightings" the direction he wanted to go into (much to the consternation of many of his college instructors, who preferred an abstractionist approach. After leaving his second career (he was a nationally acclaimed nightclub deejay for over 20 years, with many awards under his belt) he found himself in the fortunate position to actually be able to paint full time, aggressively trying to turn a beloved hobby into a career. "Like deejaying, it's exciting to actually get paid for doing something you love!!!" Whilte the work displayed here showcase his love of early cinema, Josef is always ready to accept new challenges, and comissioned works are always discussed and usually accepted if terms and conditions are met....."all in all, I'm usually pretty agreeable and easy to get along with"
