The Last Live One
The Last Live One 24? x 24? x 2? Oils on gallery wrapped canvas. painted sides no frame needed, ready to hang Here is the quote that goes with this work: “Remember, a dead fish can float downstream, but it takes a live one to swim upstream.” -W. C. Fields This oil painting is done in a pop/urban art style. Painted in response to the oil spill crisis in the Gulf of Mexico. I’ll leave it to you to decide what my motivations and messages are in this work. It feels good to have it completed. The main colors are hard to capture in this work so I’ll explain a little bit: the sky is a light colbalt/true blue, the trees are a dark prussian green, the monster is a maroon, purple, reddish color. The fish is pretty close to dead on in the picture. I hope you enjoy, Heather
