I saw this incredible sunflower as it was waking up only minutes after a summer afternoon rain. The stormy sky and low sun breaking through the clouds created an incredible color backdrop for the flower. There was so much character in the flower that I just had to paint it. This hand embellished reproduction rivals the original for a fraction of the cost.
