Principal to my work is the use of vibrant, intense colors, not necessarily found in nature. I love the aesthetic quality of bright, uninhibited, emotional colors used together, as well as the meaning it brings to my work. Subdued, naturalistic colors have never quite appealed to me, for no other reason than that it doesn’t bring anything new to interpret, neither for the viewer nor the artist. Abstraction both in form and in color has always been my chief mode of artistic communication, because it not only represents a subject, but it challenges the viewer to identify the subject presented to him in the work. Even if the viewer’s interpretation is not quite what I intended to convey, the different connections established by ideas other than my own are the great sources of inspiration for other pieces.
